All About Potato Head Beach Club in Seminyak, Bali
Potato Head Beach Club in Seminyak is one of the premier beach clubs in Bali. Potato Head, despite the silly name, is known for luxury and is considered the best hotel option on the island if you want an attached beach club with your resort stay. The Potato Head complex; with its three restaurants, three infinity pools, over 6 bars, two boutiques, and an adjoining hotel, is huge – In my opinion, Potato Head is the most “something for everyone” beach club in Bali. With its swim-up bar in an infinity pool with views of the beach, it’s a perfect spot to drink and party.

👉 🌊 Bonus: Potato Head offers direct beach access, and since it’s a free-entry beach club you can take as many dips in the ocean or stroll on the beach as you want during your stay. This is even encouraged, as they have a foot-bath station at the entry for anyone coming in from the beach to the club with sandy toes. All this to say, it’s easy to recommend Potato Head Beach Club & Hotel to anyone and everyone coming to Bali. Potato Head is just so HUGE, and it has so much to offer, that I can guarantee you will have a good time!

🎉 Potato Head: Vibe
The name “potato head” made me think this was going to be a party spot like Finns Beach Club, It’s actually super relaxing and the vibe leans toward an older crowd during the daytime. After the sun sets, the music at Potato Head gets a bit louder and more lively as people pile in for the party to begin.
💰 Potato Head Beach Club Minimum Spend & Prices
💸 Potato Head Beach Club is completely free and open to the public. There is the expectation that once you are inside, you will order food and drinks and be a paying customer, but there is no entrance fee or minimum spend to access the beach club or pool area. If you would like to rent one of the premium seats, like the daybeds or mattresses, you will need to meet a minimum consumption amount that goes towards your food and drinks bill.
Note! These prices are prone to change at any time (and frequently do), please reach out to Potato Head before your stay for updated price lists!

Mattress Minimum Spend
The mattresses on the lawn are an iconic part of Potato Head Beach Club, one mattress that fits up to two people is 1.5 million IDR ($100) minimum spend.
Note! I wouldn’t recommend the mattresses at Potato Head. Yes, they’re cheaper than the beds, but they’re in direct sunlight (no shade) and are mattresses on the floor behind the beds, which are elevated. This means you get no shade and no view!

💡 Tip: There is actually a row of free (no minimum spend) seats behind the mattresses at Potato Head, which I personally think are better than the mattresses.

Day Bed Minimum Spend
There are two day-bed sizes at Potato Head Beach Club, the smaller one fits up to 4 guests, and the larger up to 6. The two daybeds include two bottles of alcohol of your choice (from their list) with a selection of mixers. For the smaller beach bed, there’s currently a 3 million IDR minimum spend, and it includes two bottles of your choice from Smirnoff Vodka, Gordon’s Gin, and Captain Morgain Rum. For the larger beach bed, the minimum consumption is 4 million, and you get a more extensive list of alcohol to choose from for your two bottles.
Tip! If you’re staying with the hotel, Potato Head Suites, there are complimentary day beds at the hotel’s private infinity pool.

My Top Tips for Visiting Potato Head Beach Club
✅ Stay in the connected hotel, Potato Head Suites & Studios, for an exclusive infinity pool and free day beds.
✅ If you want a mattress (one of the cheaper day beds), or one of the better no-minimum-spend seats, you should get there early (before noon!)
✅ None of the beds or tables have a time maximum.
✅ Make a reservation for your day bed, especially on a Saturday or Sunday!
✅ Know that Potato Head is chill in the daytime, the music generally starts to get louder and more bass-y as the sun goes down.
✅ Try the wood-fired pizza (It’s actually really good!)
✅ On a budget? My Cheap-O Bali tip is to go book a beach bed IN FRONT of the beach club directly from a local! That’s right, most clubs and hotels with beaches have this and it’s always super cheap, then you can go inside the club to eat, party, and swim.

Potato Head Beach Club: Pros & Cons
✔️ PROS
✔️ No entrance fee or minimum spend ✔️ Live DJ ✔️ Infinity Pool with ocean views AND swim-up bar! ✔️ Real wood-fired pizza ✔️ Above-average cocktails compared to some other Bali Beach clubs ✔️ Great sunset-watching spot ✔️ Beyond reasonable prices for a Seminyak Beach Club ✔️ Family-friendly (in the daytime) ✔️ Private VIP section & infinity pool for hotel guests ✔️ One of the only beach clubs in Bali with an on-site hotel
❌ CONS
❌ A lot of the chairs, even the pricy mattress day beds, had no shade. I imagine it would be hard to stay in direct sunlight all day. ❌ Slow WiFi (8 MBPS – Although you’ll see Digital Nomads working at Potato Head on the weekdays, they don’t advertise it as a CoWorking spot, so this isn’t necessarily a con.)
Potato Head Beach Club: My Experience (REVIEW)
An excellent place to watch the sunset on Seminyak Beach, you can’t go wrong with visiting Potato Head Beach Club in Bali – It’s fun, free, and open to the public. You only have to pay a minimum spend at Potato Head if you’re booking one of the larger beach beds or pay for an entry ticket if there’s an event. An excellent place to watch the sunset on Seminyak Beach, you can’t go wrong with visiting Potato Head Beach Club in Bali.
Tip: If you’re ever in the area, I recommend at least popping into Potato Head to see the famous “5,000 Lost Soles” art installation or have a drink at their swim-up pool bar.
