Alas Harum & Cretya Ubud – Guide To Visiting

Alas Harum Agrotourism is a one-stop-shop for all the most famous activities in Ubud, from the high-swing to coffee tasting. Recently, they’ve added Cretya Ubud Day Club, which has quickly taken the title of the most impressive pool club in Ubud. I live in Bali when I’m not traveling, and during my 6-months living in Ubud, my apartment had a view of Cretya Ubud’s beautiful multi-tiered pool in the Tegalalang Rice Terraces.

5 Things You Can Do at Alas Harum & Cretya Ubud

Alas Harum is a one-stop-shop for a ton of iconic Ubud activities. Because you can do so much in one day, I highly recommend a trip to Alas Harum Agrotourism for people who have limited time in Ubud! Here are some of the activities you can do at Alas Harum and Cretya Ubud:

The multi-tiered pool at Cretya Ubud Day Club in Ubud, Bali.

✅ Swim In The Multi-Tiered Pool

The pool at Cretya Ubud is by far the coolest pool I have ever been to in all of Bali. Ubud is a land-locked destination, and I feel like hotels and day clubs in Ubud try to make up for it by designing super cool pools, out of all of them, Cretya Ubud has the best pool!

✅ Eat At The Restaurant At Cretya Ubud

There are two restaurants at Cretya Ubud, one with a Western Food Menu with a view of the pool, & one with an Asian Fusion Menu that has a view of the swing. The Western-style restaurant at Cretya Ubud and Alas Harum has amazing views of their private rice terraces and it has 360-degree bar seating so it’s not hard to get a seat with a view.

Katie’s Tips ✶

I personally didn’t find the food at Cretya that great! Especially when compared to all the other amazing places to eat in Ubud, Cretya was kinda underwhelming.

Alas Harum & Cretya Ubud Menu

👉 Note! There are now two restaurants at Alas Harum & Cretya Ubud and TWO different menus. One restaurant has a Western-style menu, and one is an Asian Fusion. The Western-style restaurant has things like pizza, burgers, and Caesar salad, while the Asian fusion restaurant has sushi, Thai curries, and Indonesian food.

The Western-style restaurant at Cretya Ubud is a bit more expensive, but it also has large shareable dishes like pizza. We had their pizza, Thai Green Curry, and Nasi Goreng (fried rice), while it’s definitely not the best food I’ve had in Ubud, it was fine considering the gorgeous view.

✅ Take A Ride On The Famous High Swing Over The Rice Terraces

Alas Harum has some of the best high swings over the rice terraces in Ubud because it has a private rice terrace! They put a ton of thought and care into building their structures, so you get an unobstructed perfect view of the rice terraces on their high swings. They also have other attractions like a couple’s swing and even a zip line over the rice terrace!

✅ Take Photos For Instagram In Their Many Photo Nests

Alas Harum Agrotourism has some of the best photo spots in all of Ubud! They have built tons of photo nests all over their private rice terraces, and even rent out dresses to tourists looking to make their photos extra Insta-worthy!

✅ Have A Coffee Tasting

Alas Harum Agrotourism has its own Balinese coffee plantation museum on site where you can see how Balinese coffee is made, and learn about the infamous Kopi Luwak coffee (cat poop coffee) that is famous in Bali. The coffee museum is included in your 50K entrance ticket, and you can choose to have a coffee tasting of all different types of Balinese coffee with rice terrace views afterward for 118K Indonesian Rupiah ($8). If you would like to try the controversial Kopi Luwak coffee, it’s an additional 118K Indonesian Rupiah ($8) on its own.

How To Get to Alas Harum and Cretya Ubud

Alas Harum is a little difficult to get to from Ubud Center because it’s not within walking distance. It’s located in the Tegallalang region, which is about 15 minutes north of Ubud.

🚕 By Gojek & Grab taxi

I was able to easily get to Alas Harum from the center of Ubud by calling a scooter taxi off of the Grab App. Grab is an alternative app to Uber in Bali, and it works similarly. It only cost a few dollars and took around 15 – 20 minutes to get there.

🛵 By Scooter

If you’re not going to be drinking at Cretya and you know how to drive a scooter, I recommend renting a scooter in Bali and driving yourself. For scooter rentals in Bali, I use 🛵 Bikago.

Parking At Alas Harum

Parking is free at Alas Harum and Cretya Ubud, including overnight parking. My friend had to leave her scooter there overnight because we had been drinking, and they had no problems with this.

Alas Harum & Cretya Ubud: My Review

I always recommend Alas Harum & Cretya Ubud to friends visiting Bali due to all the amazing things you can do there; like zip-lining, coffee tasting, high-swing, a private rice terrace, and a multi-level pool with amazing views. I enjoy visiting Cretya Ubud and Alas Harum immensely – I lived in an apartment next door to Cretya for around 4 months and I visited Cretya a ton of times. The food and drinks there could be a lot better, but since I go to Cretya for the views it’s a small issue.

  1. Is this place good for families?

Hello! Alas Harum Agrotourism is great for families with kids, the connected beach club, Cretya, however is 21+ for the pool since it’s technically a bar.

    Hello Katie!
Thank you for your article. I am looking for a bamboo villa for my upcoming stay in Ubud. Something that faces the terraces and with an open bathtub! Can you please recommend something! Already grateful for your help !

    1. Katie Caf says:

Hi! Unfortunately, you’re not going to find a villa in these rice fields because they’re commercial. I lived in a modern apartment next door for around 6 months, and truthfully, while the view was nice it was very noisy! Most Bamboo villas with views of the rice fields are positioned near rice fields used for farming, not tourism, so it will be more tranquil.

There are some in Ubud, but the nicest and most famous bamboo villas are located in Sidemen, which is east of Ubud, and is a more peaceful area.

  3. Hi…..
Katie i have a 7 year old kid….. but i also wanna go to pool and enjoy …… do kids sits nearby pool area when we are there or their entry is restricted far away from pool

    1. Katie Caf says:

      Hi Jasman,

So the rule is no one under 18 can go to the pool area because it’s a bar, however they’re not always so strict. I know a 14 YO got into the pool area no problem, but I also know some girls who were ID’d there. If you’re looking for a nice kid-friendly pool like Cretya there’s Tlaga Singha – similar design and allows childen to visit.
