Savaya Bali Beach Club – Guide to Visiting (Formerly Omnia)

Savaya Bali Beach Club (formerly called Omnia) is the absolute hottest spot on the south of the island in Uluwatu. I loved visiting Savaya Beach Club, which is the top spot for clubbing and live music on the southern tip of Bali – I think It’s one of the best things to do in Uluwatu.

All About Savaya Bali Beach Club in Uluwatu (Formerly Omnia)

Savaya is the premier beach club/night club in Bali to see live performing artists. Savaya frequently hosts world-famous A-list musical artists and DJs such as Calvin Harris, Lil Jon, Diplo, and more.  In addition to being the most well-known spot in Bali to catch headlining DJs, Savaya is also the most impressive-looking club on the island. An iconic cube-shaped bar overhangs onto the Indian Ocean – Under the bar is an infinity pool, also suspended over Uluwatu’s cliff face. At night, the cube-shaped bar lights up in strobes of different colors.

It’s not only the craziest-looking bar I’ve seen in all of Bali but also in my travels across the entire world.  All this to say, even if you’re not a big fan of the type of music they play at Savaya, I think it’s worth at least a stop-in on your trip to Bali. It’s hard to not be impressed by the astounding design of this beach club, Savaya is truly a one-of-a-kind spot.

My Experience at Savaya Bali Beach Club (REVIEW)

Savaya is the premier spot in all of Bali for headlining DJs and performing artists – If there’s an A-List musician visiting Bali, they will be performing at Savaya. Music videos get filmed at Savaya’s iconic cube bar, which is lit up with strobing multi-colored light shows come nightfall.

Savaya, in my opinion, doesn’t really have chill “Bali Vibes”,- It’s more like if an insane Miami club was transplanted right to the cliff-bluffs of Uluwatu. It’s a little bit expensive by Bali standards, and the rules are a little bit stricter, but as long as you go into it knowing about this you should have a wonderful time. I know I will definitely go to Savaya again, it’s an astoundingly beautiful venue that everyone should visit at least once on their trip to Bali. If you visit Savaya on your trip to Bali, I hope you have a wonderful time!

I don’t want to go into details about my friends and my experience at Savaya, because I don’t like to be negative on this site and I believe everyone deserves to go into new experiences in Bali with a positive outlook.

However, let’s just say we had a few problems with the management, both security and the front desk, just being a little bit rude to us. Of course, everyone has to have their own experience and I’m by no means not telling people to go to Savaya. In fact, despite these hiccups, I personally will definitely be going again, since it could have just been an off day!

On the lighter side, looking back at the photos I have in my camera roll, I feel insane for complaining.

Savaya Beach Club is the single most impressive structure in all of Bali – It’s a gorgeous venue, and by NYC standards (where I’m from) absolutely ridiculously cheap for what you get to experience there.

It’s something like $10 to visit an infinity pool overhanging the Indian Ocean, complete with floating day beds and a swim-up bar? Uhm, YES, please!

I’m nit-picking just because the competition in Bali is steep, this island has so many of the best beach clubs in the entire world it’s easy to get jaded to what an amazing location you’re in.

Yes, Savaya’s management (in my opinion) is a little annoying, but it’s an amazing place and I think you’ll have a great time if you’re a bit open to the fact that the rules are strict going into it!

Dos and don’ts you have to know before traveling to Bali & Indonesia

Savaya Bali: Menu

Savaya serves typical beach-club fare – Sushi, burgers, pizza, along with small plates of finger food. I found their “On-Ice” Seafood Platters to be the most interesting, and specific to Savaya, option on their menu. If you visit Savaya Beach Club you won’t be able to miss the waiters carrying huge Instagrammable fresh seafood displays, served on heaps and heaps of ice.

My Top Tips for Visiting Savaya Bali Beach Club (Formerly Called Omnia)

✅ Know That it’s Called Savaya Now!

Omnia Beach Club opened in Uluwatu in 2018 to much hype and applause – In 2020 it changed hands and the venue reopened as Savaya Beach Club. Now, it’s a totally different club, with different owners, names, etc – Same amazing venue!

✅ Make a Reservation

If you want to reserve a cabana or beach bed, especially if it’s during an event or on a weekend, I highly recommend reaching out to make your reservation ahead of time!

✅ Bring Your bathing Suit!

Trust me, even if you’re not a big pool-side drinker, you’ll want a photo sipping a cocktail at Savaya’s INSANE infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

✅ No Drones + Cameras Allowed

No drones or cameras bigger than a little digital one are allowed at Savaya – All camera gear is confiscated at the entrance. If you want that iconic sunset hyper-lapse of Savaya’s glowing cube, think again!

✅ Know That You Can Request a Catalogue over WhatsApp

You can get a seating catalog, in addition to all the current set prices, by contacting Savaya over WhatsApp.

✅ Lockers and Luggage Storage Are Available (For a Small Fee)

You can rent a small locker at Savaya for your valuables while you swim for around 150K ($10). 👉 Tip! If you have a camera or drone that gets confiscated by security, they will hold these valuables for you for free.

✅ Be Ready to Spend $$$

Yes, Savaya is one of the most expensive beach clubs in Bali. You will have a better time there if you go into it with this information now! While many people expect Bali to be a relatively cheap destination, at the more high-end locations like Savaya, the prices there are more aligned with a beach club in Miami or Ibiza (in my opinion). If you want to ball on a budget, Savaya is not your place – But, there are other beach clubs in Bali you can visit like La BrisaCretya, Finns, and even Potato Head that charge low or no entrance fee. 👉 That being said, Savaya looks way cooler than any beach club I’ve seen in Miami or Ibiza, so while it’s not a cheap place to visit, you’re still getting great value for your money.

✅ Online “Early Bird Special”

Savaya advertises an “Early Bird Discount” for general admission booked through their site online vs. at the door. Online it’s advertised as 125K IDR, at the door 150K. However, when I went to book online I saw that they added a “Booking Fee”, so the Early Bird Special totaled out at 145K. My card wound up not working on their site, so I had to pay the 150K IDR at the door, and there were no additional fees added. In the end, you do save 5K IDR booking online, which is about 30 cents USD.

✅ Know That the Pool Bar & the Cube are No-Minimum Spend

Although the general admission seating areas are limited, I personally found the swim-up pool bar with floating beach beds, and the iconic “Cube” to be the most impressive areas of the club.

✅ No Grab/Gojek/Private Pickups Allowed

When you get to the entrance to Savaya you’re greeted by big signs saying “Drop Off Only!” So, when it’s time to leave, you need to hire a private cab service or walk off-site to a pickup point to hail a Grab or Gojek (Bali’s version of Uber). While you can get dropped off by a private driver, friend, Gojek, Grab, etc., at the entrance, you can’t get picked up at the end of the night. You can still take a Grab or Gojek home from Savaya, you just need to walk around 5-10 minutes to their pickup point.

✅ Know That You Need to be Over 21 + Show ID

Did you know the official drinking age in Indonesia is 21? Just like in the United States! Savaya, which I mentioned in this article a few times, doesn’t really (in my opinion) have “Bali Vibes” – One of these ways is that it’s actually the only place on the island where I’ve seen the Over 21 rule enforced.

✅ Don’t Expect a Sunset

We were waiting around for 6 PM, long past when we planned to go, just to witness a beautiful Bali sunset – No such luck! Savaya doesn’t face the direction where the sun sets, so we didn’t see anything. Allegedly, you can witness the sunset from Savaya’s Cube Bar in December because the sun is in the right position that time of year.

✅ Prepare for Influencer-Central

Bali in general is Influencer-Ground-Zero, but Savaya might be the apex of Instagrammability. Tons of people come in just to get a photo, especially at the cube bar!

✅ Know About the Fees

If you’re eating/staying at a local place in Bali, the fees and taxes are looped in. If you’re at a “Western” place, which is the category all of the beach clubs fall under, expect to pay a 10% tax + 5-10% service fee on top of your bill. Savaya goes above and beyond these typical Bali fees and also charges a 4.5% “Venue Fee”. This means you’re paying 21.5% fees on top of any bill you have at Savaya. The fancier the place in Bali, the higher the add-on fees. Potato Head Beach Club also charges 20% fees, but the name “Venue Fee” threw me for a loop 😂.

Pros & Cons of Savaya Beach Club in Uluwatu

Savaya Bali: Pros ✔️

✔️ The most iconic spot to visit in Uluwatu, right up there with the Kecak Fire Show!

✔️ Gorgeous Venue – Savaya is the most interesting club, visually, I have ever seen. Especially at night when it’s lit up!

✔️ Hosts the most sought-after and famous DJs and performers in all of Bali.

✔️ Has a real lifeguard on duty – In a lot of ways, Savaya doesn’t have “Bali Vibes” – Having a real lifeguard on duty at the beach club is one of them!

✔️ Great food & tasty drinks for a beach club – The Spicy Jalapeno cocktail I had at Savaya was one of the best I’ve had in Bali!

✔️ INFINITY POOL OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN!!! – A REAL ocean view because you’re suspended above the sea. Insane. I would go again just for the pool alone.

Savaya Bali: Cons ❌

❌ Charges an entrance fee for all times – Even on weekdays at 1 PM.

❌ Expensive by Bali standards, (to be fair, the prices would be competitive for somewhere like Miami, and Savaya is the most insane-looking club I’ve ever seen).

❌ No Grab/Gojek Pickups Allowed – They don’t let you take Grab or Ride-hailing apps from Savaya. You can get dropped off at the entrance, but when it’s time to leave you need to walk off-site to hail a car.

  1. Hi, so the taxi mafia – do I have to visit with a private driver?

    1. Katie Caf says:

Hello! Nope, it’s totally fine to get dropped off by Grab or any other taxi service – it’s just when it’s time to leave you either need to walk off-site to hail a Grab car, use Savaya’s taxi service, or arrange for a driver to pick you up. Hope that helped 🙂

  2. Hi there! Do they have showers? Can’t see that it says it anywhere online but just want to double check as we have a flight to catch straight after! Thank you!

    1. Katie Caf says:

Hi – not that I saw there! but I would assume they do since they have a pool, i would call ahead

  3. Can we use the Bluebird Taxi app though to get a legit taxi to pick us up from the Club itself? I was told the “Mafia” are fine with Bliuebird Taxis.
